Savannah Chrisley is looking ahead after mom Julie Chrisley's prison sentence was overturned.
In fact, the Growing Up Chrisley star is hopeful that Julie—who is awaiting to be resentenced after an appeals court found there was not enough evidence to show she had been involved in a bank fraud scheme when it first began in 2006—will be released in the coming months.
“Now we sit and wait, hopefully, no more than 90 days to go for that hearing,” Savannah said on the July 2 of her Unlocked podcast, noting that Julie's new sentencing is "a really big deal."
The 26-year-old continued, “Hopefully, she comes home. If she comes home, oh my gosh, life will be so much better."
“I'm making it my goal," Savannah added, "that by Thanksgiving, she's home."
While dad Todd Chrisley's overall prison sentence—which was reduced to 10 years in September—was not affected in the latest appeal, the Chrisley Knows Best alum said she doesn't see it as "a loss."
"In the grand scheme of things," she explained, "the appeals court gave us a very solid case for an effective counsel."
And if Julie were to return home later this year, Savannah said she'll have more time to "truly focus" on working to help get Todd released.
"My dad's my best friend in the entire freaking world," she shared. "I still look at things as if he doesn't come home—what happens? Like, do I go get married without my dad? Do I have a kid without my dad? I don't want to do that."
Still, Savannah is cautious about being too optimistic about her parents' case for the sake of brother Grayson, 18, and niece Chloe, 11, who she's been caring for amid Todd and Julie's imprisonment.
“I know for me that I'm in this place of wanting to rejoice, but at the same time, I don't wanna get my hopes up," she said. "I tend to do that a lot."
Todd, 55, and Julie, 51, were found guilty on charges of wire fraud, conspiracy to commit bank fraud and conspiracy to defraud the United States in June 2022. They reported to prison in January 2023.
